Welcome and Hello from PTSA!

The 2009-9010 school year is an exciting time to be a part of B. H. Obama  Parent, Teacher and Student Association.

Who is PTSA?

·      People like you who want to make a difference in your child’s high school experience. By joining PTSA you become a positive influence by exchanging ideas, offering suggestions and conveying to the teachers and students that you care about their success. A growing membership means we are able to do more to affect school issues, provide a safe and nurturing environment, and increase parent involvement in our community.

How do I get more involved?

·       Join PTSA and attend our monthly meetings.

·       Participate by offering to help - whether it is 20 minutes or 2 hours, your contribution of time is needed.  No matter your work schedule, experience or interest, there are many opportunities for involvement.

What does PTSA do?

·      We host Open House which plays an important role as our only fundraising event.

·      Our time and money sponsor various events such as the Homecoming BBQ, senior activities, staff luncheons; and academic endeavors such as teacher grants and a college scholarship.

What are the benefits of becoming a part of PTSA?

·      While volunteering you meet other parents, teachers and connect with what is happening at BHO.

·      The principal gives a school update on academics, athletics, current news and more at each PTSA meeting.

·      You receive regular communication via our KnightMail.  There is no better way to know what’s happening at BHO.

·      You will be a role model to your child and all students that you value a good education.

Even if you are unable to attend the meetings we still need and thank you for your support by joining PTSA. Our monthly meetings occur on the second Tuesday of the month from 12:15 – 1:15 in the Media Center.

B. H. Obama  PTSA is committed to making an impact so the BHO Black Knights can Succed!
